Almost 70 Days

Hello world of bloggers, I finally have a quite moment to do a quick post about what has been happening in my world!

Well as I said in my last post both hubby and I ventured into the world of renovators!

Oh my what where we thinking!

It has almost taken us three months to transform our house into a refreshed and more modern house. We have lovely new water running through our house, we also so have a more energy efficient house with natural gas heat, cooking and hot water, we have also installed the latest in energy efficient lighting and insulating our living areas.
We have stripped, demolished, plastered, sanded, painted and designed.
Our life has been turned upside down with very late nights and incredibly early morning and no weekends.

But now we can see an end is in sight even with the little things to tackle, I can now have time to reflected on our achievements, and smile!

But if you ask us shall we ever do this again.... My answer of you all will be a big fat NO!

A Break, While Chaos Develops

In the last two weeks hubby and I have decided to take the plunge and renovate our house. The kitchen and bathroom finally after living here for 11 years. So with me being the on-site foreman and the person that has the time to do all the running around, that's what I have been doing, and gosh even this part of renovating is exhausted. Running around for kitchen quotes,  plumber quotes, flooring quotes, looking at new bathroom fittings and appliances for my new kitchen.  I still have the pleasure this week of organising electrical quotes and looking at gas heating  both heater and hot water. We haven't even taken a sledge hammer to a wall yet and I have been having early nights and draining head aches. :(
So to ease my mind while trying to organise and take in the renovating task at hand, I have taken some time off and had some well deserved scrapping time.
I have been lucky to complete three layouts this week/weekend and now is the perfect time to share them, while I'm still on a me break, so with now further ramblings here are my layouts to share.

A Weekend of Photos

Yep photo op weekend.

The family and I went and had winter family portraits taken in Richmond on Saturday, with a lovely student photographer, thanks Michelle.

We also had to have a trip to the lolly shop....um lollies and Val Halla ice cream...yummy.
I snapped these photos on my iPhone, because silly me forgot my normal camera. Gosh how silly a scrapper forgetting their camera. Tisk tisk tisk, but non the less we got some keep sake shots of our afternoon at Richmond.

Look at all those lollies and my favourite are amongst them chocolate coated almonds, yum!!

The kids enjoying their sweets.

Oh Lance................ get out of it! that's my ice cream.

Also Zachary had his sleep over for his 14th birthday which was this week.
Sorry peeps no posting of photos of this event,  I have had specific instruction not to post any photo's or videos of this weekend . Oh I do have the right but when he is 18 or 21 to drag them out and embarrass him then. lol

And for today, I have had a scrappy and sewing kind of day. I must say it was nice to get up early this morning to take Shannon to work and then come home and get straight into the jobs.  Like cleaning out the rabbit hutches and washing,  knowing that I would have the rest of the day to myself getting some crafting done. Oh what a relaxing way to spend a Sunday, I created two layouts and I have just completed another owl. So now with less chit chat I want to share with you all the photo's of these projects.

I Create : American Craft Papers, American Craft Thickers, Assorted Amy Tangerine sticker and embellishments, Tattered Angel Glimmer mist, Buttons, Sewing, Kaisercraft flowers and felt clouds.

And now for the close ups

Itchy the Cat : American Craft Thickers, Kaisercarft wooden birdcage, bakers twine, mini clothes pins, eyelets, felt flower, We R Memory Keeps pattern paper - 72 & Sunny, Ranger mist, Stampin up bird punch,  Franchville tape.

And now for the close ups

And  the last thing I wish to share is a preview to my latest owl order for a friend via my facebook account. This lucky owl gets to travel all the way to Queensland this week.

See I said that this post would be a photo bomb kind of post. I don't mind though and I hope you all don't mind either. ;)

Me Day, My Day

Last week I took a me day during the middle of the week, a very rare thing for me to do, but an enjoyable and much needed day.  :)

I have really  been finding it hard to find time to scrapbook, plus I have been busy making Owl orders in my free time.  I have struggled to just do some plan old scrapbooking, so last week I took a me day to complete a couple of layouts and today while I have a few moment I thought I would share them.

This layout was inspired by a layout I saw in the latest Scrapbook Creation and the layout was by Raquel Pert, I just loved the way the layout was set out.  So armed with some old Bo Bunny (Sophie Tickled Pink) papers and a photo from my brother wedding this is my interruption of it.

It was great to drag out the old Dymo labeller for the journaling.

And great to go through my stash and use a variety of embellishment for this page. I even got to drag out an old set of Me & My big Ideas Chipboard's to use, plus random journaling spot for embellishments.

I also used some lovely new Ah Scrap bottle caps on this layout.

This layout I used another old paper from Bo Bunny (Sophie Frills Die Cut). I keep this layout simple and only used the die as my background paper.

A cute little bit of journaling about Sarah only wishing to give Fleur a flower on her wedding day.

And to add a bit of sparkle a touch of Kindy Glitz

I really wanted to continue the flower border from the Die so I misted flower, I used a Kaisercraft wooden flower as my mask.

So this is what happens when I have a scrappy me day. Gosh I wish I could have these more often. :)

Cheers Kylie

A pleasure to make, and a pleasure to sell.

Over the last couple of months I have had the pleasure of selling some of my handmade owls, so finally I thought I would do a blog post about selling them.

This post will be all the information on sizes, price and how much it is for postage around Australia only, and a great chance to show off how they look.

Here you can see all the sizes together to get and idea. They come in all different colours and styles of fabric. People that wish to order normally message me on Facebook with which colour they would like their owl to be and which size they would like.

Here is the information to help Owl buyers out there ;)

This is my small Owl and as you can see it is the same size as an iPhone and they cost $5 AU

This is my medium Owl and as you can see it is the same size of a box of shapes and they cost $10 AU

This is my large Owl and as you can see it is the some size as a 3 litre carton of milk and they cost $15 AU

All owls are made with fabric, felt, with hand stitching around the eyes, beak, and wings and they have buttons for eyes. I also can make these owls without button eyes for younger children to play with. All owls are stuffed with hobby fill.

Postage for my Owls is $7.50 AU for all sizes, and I can be posted anywhere is Australia only.

Hopefully in the next week or so I shall endeavour to take photos of the fabrics I currently have and then this will help buyers decided on what they wish their owl to look like.

Cheers Kylie

One Flew Over The Cookoo's Nest.

Tonight will be just a quick post between making handmade fabric and felt owls.

I have been very luck to have family and friends like my owls and now they wish to buy them from me.  This puts a big smile on my face, as I really enjoy making them so much, and there is no point me making them all and keeping them for myself, gosh my house would be over run by owls very soon the way I'm going.

I have priced them quite cheaply and I am also happy to ship them off to places around Australia only.
There are three sizes Large $15 (25cm tall) Medium $10 (12cm tall) and small $5 (10cm tall) those sizes are give a take a few centre meters, and postage of all sizes is $7.50 around the country.

I really get a great sense of happiness and satisfaction completing an order for someone and watching their face as I hand it over. I wish I could be there for the owls that I have posted.

I also had the pleasure on the weekend to venture away from my owl making to make a pussy cat and here it is. I sold it to a mum from my youngest school and she was so pleased with it. As I walked away after giving her this newly made item, I had an idea, while don't I make sets. The owl and the pussy cat would be a perfect pair. So over the weekend I shall endeavor to make some.

Well that's enough about my new hobby for now, I really should get back to making some orders I received the other day.

Cold hands Warm mug : This layout is created with Kaisercarft pattern paper collection Tiny Woods and homemade glimmer mist, Raw Umber Kaisercraft paint.

Be You : Was created using Kaisercraft Attitude Collection. and once more some homemade glimmer mist, and time I made with black Kaisercraft paint.

On A Cold Winters Weekend.

With the weather outside being terribly cold, there is nothing better then having a warm scrap room to create in. On the weekend I had one such thing and completed two new layouts and today I wish to share them.

For ages I have had this photo of Lance and Zach on the computer and finally the other night with some inspiration on Pinterest I decided to print it and scrap it and this is what I came up with.

2 Of A Kind - Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away Collection papers, Francheville vintage buttons and clock faces, twine, American Craft Thickers, Perfect Pearl Mist

Inking the edges and using magic mount makes the pp cut outs stand out on the layout.

I love the mixing of alpha's in a title.

This is the Francheville clock face, these where purchased at Spotlight for $4....BARGAIN!!

The second layout I worked on over the weekend was inspired by a picture posted on Polly! Scrap Kits on Facebook for their June challenge.

Thanks Kayla for posting a great picture for some scrapping inspiration, its also been a long time since I have done a challenge layout and I really enjoyed completing this one.

The colour, leaves and title are what I took from this picture, I found it a pleasure to scrap.

Love You - Assorted pattern papers, Assorted Cardstock, Perfect Pearl Mist, Mesh Leaves, Marianne flower die (cardstock leaves) Buttons, journaling pen, and canvas tags.

Here you can see the flower die I use to cut up and turn into leaves and the very fragile mesh leaves.

With the tree I traced it out onto the layout and then out lined it with a journaling pen, once I had done that I printed another copy of the tree and then I cut it out and used it as a stencil so I could use perfect pearl mist heirloom gold to colour the tree.

And finally to finish off the layout I used assorted pp cut them into hexagon which seems to be the rage at the moment, and use some assorted canvas words to embellish.

I really enjoyed the warmth of my scrapping room, and the chance to have a play.

Cheers Kylie
