On A Cold Winters Weekend.

With the weather outside being terribly cold, there is nothing better then having a warm scrap room to create in. On the weekend I had one such thing and completed two new layouts and today I wish to share them.

For ages I have had this photo of Lance and Zach on the computer and finally the other night with some inspiration on Pinterest I decided to print it and scrap it and this is what I came up with.

2 Of A Kind - Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away Collection papers, Francheville vintage buttons and clock faces, twine, American Craft Thickers, Perfect Pearl Mist

Inking the edges and using magic mount makes the pp cut outs stand out on the layout.

I love the mixing of alpha's in a title.

This is the Francheville clock face, these where purchased at Spotlight for $4....BARGAIN!!

The second layout I worked on over the weekend was inspired by a picture posted on Polly! Scrap Kits on Facebook for their June challenge.

Thanks Kayla for posting a great picture for some scrapping inspiration, its also been a long time since I have done a challenge layout and I really enjoyed completing this one.

The colour, leaves and title are what I took from this picture, I found it a pleasure to scrap.

Love You - Assorted pattern papers, Assorted Cardstock, Perfect Pearl Mist, Mesh Leaves, Marianne flower die (cardstock leaves) Buttons, journaling pen, and canvas tags.

Here you can see the flower die I use to cut up and turn into leaves and the very fragile mesh leaves.

With the tree I traced it out onto the layout and then out lined it with a journaling pen, once I had done that I printed another copy of the tree and then I cut it out and used it as a stencil so I could use perfect pearl mist heirloom gold to colour the tree.

And finally to finish off the layout I used assorted pp cut them into hexagon which seems to be the rage at the moment, and use some assorted canvas words to embellish.

I really enjoyed the warmth of my scrapping room, and the chance to have a play.

Milling The Milestones.

Last night I completed the layout I was talking about in my previous post.

Last night I shared a photo via my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts of my two gorgeous teenagers reaching a milestone in their lives......getting house keys.
Of course I scrapped this and here is my layout about about it.

The other day I was sorting through my chipboard collection and found two very large keys, and I knew straight away that I need to use these on something. Well this is that perfect thing.

Paints, stamps and Maya Road chipboard house, arrows and masking Kaisercraft wooden fence.

Misting Kaisercraft wooden clouds to make a back ground and a paint swatch.

And finally journaling is one of the most important parts to my layouts, it completes the story.

Thanks for dropping on by, have a great day. Cheers Kylie xx

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window.

Tonight I want to share a layout I made last week; this layout is about my gorgeous furry mate Bernie (our dog).

Who said that dogs are "man's" best friend, what a load of rubbish Bernie is my best mate, he is always there to help keep me company while hanging out the washing, and no matter what mood I'm in he always loves me and shows it.

So armed with a lovely photo my daughter captured on her new camera I completed this layout about my boy Bernie.

With this layout I thought I would keep it monochromatic (all the tints, tones, and shades of a single hue)
And of course with Bernie being brown, that's the colour.

I turned a wooden tag into a dog tag.

Typed out journaling, help give this layout a rrrraff feel to this layout.....Oh sorry I just couldn't help myself, had to just add a doggy pun. lol

Using paint was a must too, and the messier it was used the better for this layout.

Well now that I have finally added this entry to my blog, I shall turn around and start another layout. I feel very inspired tonight with some photo's I have taken of late and I have not long just finished reading the latest copy of Scrapbooking Memories magazine. :)

Larger, Brighter and Bigger.

Armed with new fabrics purchased today, tonight I want to share the NEW NEW owls I've been making.

Tonight I made one for my friend Donna who runs Ah Scrap, and one for me, with some special fabric that really grab me.

Donna message me the other day and ask if I would like to make one and sell it to her, but there is no way I would sell her one since she sent me some new new bottle caps (check them out) so I said lets call it a swap. I made her a smaller one the other night but I wasn't very happy with it! (Worse own critic) So tonight arm with the new fabric, altered and larger pattern I made her a new one and finally one for myself.

The red and brown one is for Donna and the Halloween one is for me, something owly to put on the mantel piece at all hollows eve.
I look forward to making some more and this time round I might just sell a few. It might be a little bit of pocket money for maybe some scrapping supplies...or even better more felt and fabric to make more owls.

It's Getting Serious

Yep its truly getting serious.................
This evening I dragged out my sewing machine to make another owl.....Yep I'm stitching with a machine now.

I found another awesome owl template while surfing the net the other night, and with today being a public holiday here, I though what better way to spend my afternoon then just chilling in my scrap room creating.
I was going to scrap a layout and finish making my new ATC's but instead, I drag out the tracing paper and trace out this awesome printable owl template from Sew Fun - Owl Pattern and Tutorial .

So with a little cut, cut here and a sew, sew there I ended up making this owl.

I've really enjoy this other side to crafting, and I even been thinking out pulling out the old knitting needles and knitting................... Gosh my mother would be so proud of me...LOL

Well that's enough of  me blogging, I have requests from 3 of my children to make them an owl each. FUN FUN FUN, more sewing for me :)

Look hoo's Making Owls

In the last two days I've been a busy bee. And to my surprise its another crafty side of me that I wasn't to sure I had.
I have been making and organizing materials to make these cute little Felt and fabric owls.

I found an awesome template and guide to make these cuties on Pinterest, which lead me to this site www.homelife.com.au/FeltOwls

The first one I made was the black, white and red, Sir Puffy as I like to call him and then I made the second owl. I really enjoyed making these so I think I shall make a few for my girls and for gift for other owl lovers I know.

An Evening of Warmth and Scrapping.

On Sunday night I picked my butt off the lounge and ventured into my scrap room armed with a heater to create.
I pulled out a few things form my draws and I had a lovely bowl of chocolate coated almonds (Thanks Lance xx) to keep me company while I scrapped and this is what I created.

For Sarah album a layout about her joining soccer this year. I'm super pleased with this layout and I'm super proud of my baby girl and her team effort with soccer, she is a super trooper getting out there and playing on very very cold mornings and playing on a team with other children she has never meet before until joining club soccer.  Great job Bear xxx

I normally never use themed stickers when I create my layouts, but I couldn't resist with these ones as the soccer jersey has Sarah's number on it lucky 7 and I really wanted to use a football on this layout as in the photo she is kicking the ball.

To keep the whole ball them I used circles.

Thanks for dropping on by. Cheers Kylie
